CAPODIMONTE

Capodimonte is more than a century Italian style of the finest porcelain once reserved for kings and queens. The style became popular when the royal family in Italy fell in love with the beauty of Capodimonte arts. Some of the selection you see is made by artisans, according to the same tradition dating back to the 18th century. The Italian Museo e Gallerie Nazionali di Capodimonte art museum begun in 1738 at Naples housed in the Palazzo of Capodimonte.

The early porcelain made at Buen Retirok near Madrid, in the 1760s, had been justly compared to that of Saint-Cloud. The quality of the ware was good, and some skillful figure modeling was done by Giuseppe Gricci, who had previously worked at Capodimonte.

 

         

 

Auro Belcari is a famous living Italian sculptor who has fashioned some of the most beautiful small scale sculptures which are highly collectible and avidly collected all around the world. The artist was born in Tuscany (Italian: Toscana), Italy. He received his sculptor's apprenticeship in the workshops of the local Italian alabaster-sculptors whom his talents soon surpassed. His formal artistic credentials include distinguished academic degrees in art.  

        Master craftsman Auro Belcari trained in the workshop of the alabaster craftsmen of Tuscany in central Italy.  The figurative arts have a long tradition in Tuscany and Belcari has carved himself a reputation as one of the finest exponents of this craft. Auro Belcari has been associated with the Dear Studio for many years and has acted as mentor to many up and coming sculptors, including Ermanno Farina and Piergiorgio Bani.

        Auro Belcari is the sculptor who has worked for years, in symbiosis with Dear, creating objects destined to be valuable with time. With his professional quality, recognized by those who work in his sector, he has created in his private studio the models represented in these products, exclusively for Dear. There is no doubt that the humility of this great artist shows through these works, bringing his interior world closer to whoever is fortunate enough to possess one of his works, appreciated all over the world by the most well known art collectors.

      

 

More recently, this art was brought back into vogue by high level companies that have reevaluated this porcelain. The Dear, one of the leading companies in this sector, is always on the search for beauty. Dear has thought well to produce models with perfect finishes, beauty of form and creativity. These figures are destined, in time, to acquire the same value as the originals. The Dear produced a limited quantity for a restricted circle of art collectors; and once the limited number is reached, the original moulds were destroyed.

Neither is it a guarantee that the product is in fact porcelain or ceramic Capodimonte Limited states. In other words, it pays to do a little research to know exactly what you’re buying before plunking down a pretty penny on a piece of porcelain.
